It’s been a fair while since our last update, but please don’t think that means we haven’t been busy! Over the last year we’ve been developing a film called ‘The Lighthouse’ with Ffilm Cymru Wales, the BFI, BBC and Soda Pictures as part of the Cinematic Wales scheme. Written and directed by Chris Crow and produced by David Lloyd, ‘The Lighthouse’ is a historical chiller, based on an infamous maritime tragedy that took place upon The Smalls Island Lighthouse in 1801.
Temporarily converting an empty Cardiff Bay warehouse into a huge sound stage, the film went in front of cameras in November 2014 with Michael Jibson and Mark Lewis Jones in the lead roles. Thanks to the cast and crew’s brave efforts in the face of very cold and wet conditions, the shoot was a great success and the film is now in post production at Bang Post Production. The film’s release is planned for Winter 2015 through Soda Pictures, so please check back again for further updates over the coming months.
